When to Quit Your SlotsMany a slots player go home fatigued, unhappy or flat broke because they never learned when to walk away from their slots game. So when is the time to call it quits? There is no single catch-all answer to this question, because it all depends perhaps on the appreciation of the situation by the player himself. After dropping a few coins, walk away from the slot machine if it does not seem to be giving back a few of your coins. Even if entertainment is your primary purpose in playing slots, walk away because no one ever gets entertained dropping loads of coins and never even getting back a single coin. The key to gaming entertainment is to win some, lose some. If that isn't happening then you're obviously not enjoying your game. Quit if you find the gaming environment no longer pleasing and comfortable, like when it's getting too cold and drafty or when your allergy is starting to act up because the other slots player's cigarette smoke is drifting towards your seat or when your noisy or nosy neighbor is starting to annoy you and getting into your nerves. Walk away when you're getting too tired, hungry or angry at the slot machine for being too tight so much so that you can hardly make the right decisions. Get up and leave if you're getting dizzy from gazing too much for so long at the hypnotic spinning reels, or if you're getting giddy from the sounds of whistles, bells and the clatter of coins on metals trays. Turn around and walk away when you've lost your bankroll for that slots session. Never attempt to get into your room just to get more money to try and win back what you have lost. Get some snacks and have a good night's rest so that when you come back to the slots floor the following day you'll have a better perspective of your situation and a clearer head with hope in your heart that you'll get lucky this time. But the most important thing to remember is to learn to quit while you are ahead, or have just won the jackpot. Understand that the odds work against you the longer you spend time inside the casino floor. Nothing can be more tragic than giving back to the slot machine everything that you have won and go home with just a memory of your winnings and live the rest of your life to regret why you didn't quit while you were ahead. |
